Without even realizing it fully, my one year blogging anniversary has come and gone. I wasn’t sure I wanted to write a full post on it, so I screenshot a few pics of the memory on Facebook and the WordPress app. The more I thought on it, I wanted to make this post so I can better explain my why. Why I got into blogging, YouTube and being an Influencer.
One Year Ago
A year ago I had just got more comfortable being a stay at home mother. I felt like me being home wasn’t good enough. I needed to find something I could do for me. Something that made me happy outside of my family. I got a part time job at Torrid…that I quit the same day haha! For one they didn’t respect that I couldn’t work yet due to health reasons after having my son, and while I thought I’d love it… being there didn’t make me happy. I missed my babies.
If you’re one of my day one blog readers, you know that my original blog was called Melanin Mommie. I wanted to show my creativity as far as beauty and share my parenting ups and downs. I loved it. I’ve always loved writing and I’ve kept quite a few diaries and was even in Journalism in school! This was feeling more and more like what I wanted to do. I didn’t know that their were people actually making money from blogging at the time, but this was fun. It was creative. It was starting to be my passion.
After looking into how to take blogging more seriously, I went through a major revamp. Changing the name and general direction of my blog. Neverchilllynn was my very first Twitter handle before I completely deleted all of my social media when I was going through major life changes. I felt like it was only right to continue where I had left off by using the same name.
Loving My Path
While I’m in no way a blogging expert, I’ve learned so much from this community. I feel so blessed that I have so many amazing people rooting for me, whenever there have been times I haven’t even been rooting for myself. The blogging community has taught me so much about writing, my creativity and where I see myself in life! This blog has grown so much and I never expected it to. I’m so thankful for everyone who has believed in me and love my content!

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Having faith is very important to a creative. I pray over my platforms everyday in hopes of growth, understanding, and more knowledge into my field. One of my goals in life, is to have a closer relationship with God. In doing so, I’m learning to have faith that if I bring my troubles and problems to Him, he will give me solutions and ease my worries. Today I’m sharing how you can grow by having faith!
So my very first tip? P.U.S.H, pray until something happens. You have to understand that what you’re praying for may not exactly be in Gods will for you. Pray for what you want, and work towards it of course. If you see you’re being guided elsewhere take that as a sign that maybe this is not where you’re meant to be. And God possibly has a greater vision for you.
Set Realistic Goals
By having realistic goals and doing your best to check each one off you are setting yourself in motion to achieve bigger life long goals!
Celebrate the Journey
My last tip is to celebrate your journey at all stages. For my YouTube goals I celebrated every single special achievement. First follower? Rewarded myself with a special pamper night. 10 subbies another reward and so on. The same with my blogging goals. Celebrating all the way to my long term goals makes me feel accomplished. It also lets me have mini reminders that what I’m praying and working towards is obtainable and within my reach. Instagram ~Twitter ~Vliz: MelaLynnTV~ YouTube
Fall is here to stay, and my favorite part about it is bold but season appropriate makeup! This time, I’m sharing my ultimate fall lip combo using none other than Kylie Cosmetics OG Metal Matte lipsticks in the shades Reign and King K. Kylie has released two newer Metal Matte lippies in the shades Dancer and Kymajesty. Kymajesty has been discontinued, but had a lot of negative feedback due to its lack of pigment. There were also a lot of complaints from customers saying that their lipsticks came poorly packaged or even halfway empty. Dancer was released with the Christmas collection and remains on the site.
Kylies Metal Matte lipsticks will run you $18.00 plus tax. This is a great price point for her demographic. Compared to similar lines like Beauty Bakerie where a single Lip Whip, as they call their liquid lipsticks, will run you $20.00 Kylies price fits right in!
These Beautiful lipsticks are super opaque and dry down to a semi matte finish. Both have amazing pigment, and do not settle into those pesky fine lines you may have in your lips.
The cons are small, but need to be mentioned. The lipsticks are advertised as a Metal Matte…which simply is inaccurate at best. These don’t dry down to a completely matte finish which doesn’t bother me, but I know it is something a prospective buyer would like to know. My only other con is the fact its Kylie Jenner. I know a lot of people refuse to support the Jenner/Kardashian family and that is perfectly fine. I’ve also stated before that I will not be purchasing from her again as I feel like she doesn’t really listen to her fan base and customers and that’s just not a person I want to give my hard earned money to.
These liquid lipsticks together create the perfect bold, but Autumn appropriate, ombre` lip!
What is your favorite go to lippie for the Fall? let me know in the comments!
