2017, New Year New Me?

It’s officially 2017, even though I’ll be writing 2016 on everything for about 3 months, I’m excited! I haven’t set many goals for this year simply because I’m not sure what direction life will take me. I don’t want to set goals for one thing and life sways in a different direction. There is one thing I do plan on improving, my health!

I’ve always been on the thicker side, but it’s never bothered me. I love my curves and everything else about myself. After having two children things changed. I’ve become more self conscious… I find myself asking my fiancรฉ the dreaded question “do I look fat in this?” So instead of beating myself up about it a day longer I’ve set mini weight loss goals for myself throughout the year!

First thing I plan to change is my diet. Though I don’t eat super unhealthy there are changes I plan on making. For one I plan to completely cut out meats. I know that’s a drastic change. But I’m not doing anything cold turkey. I know having a healthy lifestyle will take time…determination. I plan on only drinking water with the exception of teas as I love nice hot tea. And a few other things I plan on sharing in a later post.

Physically I plan on being more active. Wether me and my fiancรฉ hit the gym or do a workout out regimen indoors I plan on incorporating exercise at least twice a day. Being a stay at home mom gives me so much time and opportunity to get out and move. I’m definitely going to be taking advantage of it!

I plan to document my progress, victories and set backs through my blog as well as Instagram. I’m using a fitness device called Jawbone UP to track my food/calorie intake as well as my steps and sleep cycles.

As you see above, the app lets you keep track of your journey and set goals for you to reach. I’ve set all of the settings for the recommended setting except for the weight loss section. I’m not necessarily trying to lose a huge amount of weight. Simply trying to be healthier for me and my family as well.

So here it is. My beginning journey pictures and facts.

( let’s ignore my ridiculous leggings and my fuzzy slippers lol)

Height: 5’1

Weight: 215

I’ll be updating periodically throughout the month and a progress picture update every 3 months.

I hope you all don’t mind me slightly shifting my blog direction. Do you have any goals you’re looking to reach this year?

Thank you all  so much for reading!

Hopefully this can inspire and help someone else!

Let’s keep in touch on my socials!

5 Fun things to do in December!// Blogmas day 6๐ŸŽ„

Winter is one of my absolute favorite seasons ! So here’s 5 fun things you can do in December !

  1. Go ice skating- So many places open up outdoor skating rinks this time of the year, I went for the first time two years ago and had so much fun!
  2. Go caroling – Super old tradition, but still so much fun with friends and family. Spreading holiday cheer!
  3. Volunteer at a Homeless Shelter- This can actually be done year round, but the extra joy of helping out during the holidays is definitely worth it.
  4. Donating toys to toy drives- Again can be done year round, but helping less fortunate children have an amazing Christmas is worth it.
  5. Gift exchange- My family sets up a game called white elephant. Instead of the normal buying a gift for everyone we get one gift each and play a game that determines which gift goes to who! It’s so much fun! Cooler alternative to the traditional gift exchange.

These are my 5 things to do in December ! What are your favorite things to do this time of year?

Tasty VoxBox| Influenster unboxing

Happy Tuesday ! I’m praying I have some foodies in my little corner of the internet, because todays post is a little bit different! Today I’m doing a Influenster Tasty VoxBox unboxing! I’m sure there are posts on the internet about Influenster already so I won’t bore you too much with the details.

Influenster, is a website (and now an app) where you sign up, review different products and get the chance to be sent some products for free to review! This is my second box and I still haven’t got the site figured out. I signed up in the hopes of being sent some makeup boxes, but so far I’ve received a infant box and this box I’m unboxing today, the Tasty box.

The product were very well packaged when shipped so that was definitely awesome! It had many sheets of bubble wrap protecting everything inside.

Inside, I had received a bottle of Franks red hot hot sauce, Frenches crispy fried onions, a sample of Splenda natural sugar substitute, a sample of Yogi tea, Go Lean Coca powder and a few coupons and a cookie recipe!

The items that caught my attention the most was the tea of course and the cocoa powder!

I must say, when I heard I was getting the “tasty” VoxBox this wasn’t what I was thinking at all.  But I’m thankful for the opportunity nonetheless! I hope you enjoyed this brief unboxing!

*Disclaimer*”I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.”

Thank you so much for viewing! xx
